Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the physical, mental & social health status of vulnerable the elderly who receiving fitting home visiting health service. Methods: The participants for this study were 550 Korean elderly living in Gumi city. The data was collected from January to May, 2011 by using structured questionnaires. Chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, Pearson¡¯s Correlation Coefficient and multiple regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean score of the status of physical health was 24.17, the status of psychological health was 26.10, and the status of social health was 12.67. The quality of life was showed more highly in subjects with family living under the same roof and who connected with volunteer. The status of psychological health was associated with physical aspect positively and social aspect negatively. The model including variables related to physical aspect, fall experience, type of living and educational level, explained variance of the psychological aspect of elderly, such as 21.5% of physical aspect, 12.5% of fall experience, 11.9% of type of living, and 4.7% of educational level. Finally, physical aspect was the strongest predictor in explaining the level of the status of psychological health among vulnerable elderly. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study, in the future at visiting health care services, efficient and various programs for the elderly should be tried, to improve physical aspect.
